We will send whomever you name a note to let them know of your generosity. Click here to donate online or click here to download a donation form.
Donate a Bench
Laurelwood Arboretum is a walker’s paradise, with its winding paths and beautiful scenery. It is also a wonderful place for visitors to sit and enjoy their surroundings. There were a few benches in the arboretum, but visitors have told us there weren’t enough. Our Donate-a-Bench program is easing this shortfall by offering an opportunity for donors to select either a beautiful hand-hewn rustic bench by artist David Robinson or a contemporary teak bench for placement in the arboretum.
There are many reasons to donate a bench—to celebrate a milestone in life, to honor a friend or to memorialize a loved one, to name just a few. Your bench will display a plaque inscribed with your tribute.
Click here to watch David Robinson talk about our Donate-A-Bench program.
In addition to the rustic benches, there is also an opportunity to donate contemporary teak benches — at a lower cost — that will be placed near the Knippenberg Center for Education.

Charitable IRA Distributions
Individuals who are 70 1/2 or older can instruct their IRA administrator to make a distribution directly to Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum. Such gifts count toward the required minimum distribution for IRAs and the amount of the gift is excluded from gross income for federal tax purposes including Social Security and Medicare.
Charitable Bequests — a Gift for the Future
Remembering Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum in your will ensures that generations to come will continue to enjoy this unique natural preserve. Bequests can be made in the form of a specific gift of cash or a percentage of the remainder of an estate. Retirement assets or life insurance may be included in a bequest. If you specify it, a bequest of more than $25,000 can be treated as an endowment, and the funds will be invested to grow over time. We suggest that you consult your attorney, financial advisor, or estate planner to determine the most prudent way to make a charitable bequest.
To donate securities, please call 973-831-5675 for information about making a transfer to the Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum brokerage account.
