About FOLA

FOLA volunteers

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum, Inc (FOLA) is a volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, promote and improve the Arboretum and provide opportunities for horticultural appreciation and education through public programs and outreach activities.

FOLA was incorporated in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Membership has grown steadily since that time and now numbers more than 400. FOLA directs the activities of more than 200 volunteers, who contributed over 8,800 hours of work in the Arboretum in 2009. Volunteers manage the FOLA organization and the Laurelwood budget, maintain and improve the plantings and infrastructure and provide tours of the Arboretum as well as public educational and community outreach programs.

FOLA is funded by membership dues, plant sales and donations from individuals and businesses. For more information and to join and/or donate go to our Membership Page or contact us through info@laurelwoodarboretum.com or 973-202-9579.
